Vintage clothing store Concrete Collection opens in Worcester’s Midtown Mall

A new vintage clothing store is officially open in Worcester’s Midtown Mall.

A new vintage clothing store is officially open in Worcester's Midtown Mall.

Concrete Collection held a grand opening celebration on Monday in the new store, which offers secondhand and vintage clothing and accessories. Owner William Daughtry said he has been feeling a "rollercoaster of emotions" ever since.

"It was very uplifting to see family, friends, Instagram followers, Facebook followers here," he said. "It shows the level of support people have for what we’re doing and how much people love thrifting and vintage. It's a testament to the culture."

The store is decorated with old sports memorabilia, music and movie posters, eclectic art and old toys and board games. Several shelves even have old Wheaties cereal boxes depicting famous sports stars.

Racks throughout the space showcase the variety of T-shirts, jackets, sweaters, jeans and more that Daughtry has carefully curated, while shelving units display new and secondhand sneakers.

Daughtry told MassLive in November that he likes to keep his prices low, out of a frustration with many vintage stores which charge a lot of money for clothes that aren't new.

"You won't walk in here and find a pair of $300 shoes, no matter what the internet says they’re worth," he said at the time. "If you have $100 to spend, you’re leaving here with everything you need."
