New Smith & Wesson Equalizer 9mm carry pistol: “Equation solved”

"The ultimate CCW" that allows "to balance power and capacity": this is how Smith & Wesson introduces the Equalizer, its latest micro-compact gun. Featuring and internal hammer, the Equalizer offers next gen EZ technology, a crisp clean trigger and an optic cut slide.

Smith & Wesson drops its new 9mm micro compact carry pistol, and even if it features a polymer frame, it is not a striker fired gun for once. The new Equalizer is in fact a hammer-fired gun with an internal hammer, and is offered in two versions – with an ambidextrous manual thumb safety and without manual safety. But let's take a look at all the other features of the latest S&W product.

The 9mm Equalizer incorporates all the most recent improvements in S&W's carry pistol line-up, in particular the next-gen EZ technology, to male life easier for users. Starting form the easy-to-rack slide, designed to overcome the issue of racking the slide for those who have hand strength challenges or are new to using a firearm – such as female shooters.

The optimal 18-degree grip angle provides a natural point of aim, while the optimized grip texture allows the user to manage recoil, keep a firm grip, also improving comfort when carrying concealed. As you can expect from a modern carry gun, there is a Picatinny-style rail to mount lights or lasers.

Besides easy-to-grip deep front and rear serrations, the slide features a new optic cut pattern that allows the user to mount the most popular micro red dots on the market for enhanced accuracy.

The single-action trigger shines for its short take-up, clean break, and fast reset for quick follow-up shots, with tactile and audible reset.

With a 3.675"/93 mm barrel, the new gun also provides a longer sight radius for more accurate use with the three-dot iron sights.

The magazine release is reversible. Speaking of safety, the new Smith & Wesson Equalizer has a loaded chamber indicator and disassembles without pulling the trigger. Metal parts have an Armornite durable corrosion resistant finish.

For an MSRP of $599 in the U.S., the pistol also ships with three magazines with a capacity of 10, 13, and 15 rounds respectively, so as to guarantee the perfect balance between capacity and concealability depending on the situation (a Maglula UpLula magazine speed loader is included too).
