Carrefour has celebrated its 7th anniversary today by rewarding customers with paid-for shopping trolleys in a spin-the-wheel lucky draw.
Carrefour will surprise over 1,500 Carrefour customers with a free shopping trolley as part of its Asante Mara Saba! campaign. The consumer campaign will run from 24 May to 6 June across all Carrefour hypermarkets and supermarkets in the country.
Winners will be selected randomly at the cashier checkout counters. Carrefour colleagues will spin a wheel to pick the counter number every few hours and pay for the lucky customer's shopping in full, with no limit to the winning transactions. There will be 110 winners every day.
Christophe Orcet, Regional Director of Carrefour – East Africa, Majid Al Futtaim Retail, said, "Since the introduction of our first store in 2016, our business has expanded greatly with a growing customer base, making Carrefour one of the leading retailers in Kenya. The ‘Asante Mara Saba!’ campaign gives us the opportunity to say thank you to Kenya for the successful 7 years and to give back to our customers."
As part of its anniversary celebrations, customers will also be provided with a get daily offers and great discounts. This will be on various products including groceries, household items, personal care and hygiene, and electronics, in-store and online via the MAF Carrefour App (Google Play and Apple Store).
Carrefour is committed to giving back to the community and has contributed towards education, environmental sustainability and other social protection initiatives. Under the Round Up Your Bill initiative, Carrefour, with the support of its customers, contributed millions of shillings towards the construction of new facilities, renovations, and donations of household items or foodstuff to various schools, and children's and elderly homes. In February this year, Carrefour donated 8,000 hampers filled with essential food items to 4,000 drought-affected families in Kajiado County in partnership with the Kenya Red Cross.
Carrefour operates 19 stores countrywide, with 15 located in Nairobi while Kisumu and Mombasa host two stores each. To participate in the anniversary celebrations, customers can visit any Carrefour Kenya store, the MAF Carrefour App or its social media platforms.
Well Done team Carrefour…now it's time to open more and more of your stores to all parts of the country….I love all the good things that you’ve done to the societies…. Keep up
