EASTER chocolate has already hit the shelves in Worcester just days after Christmas.

Most people probably have not even made it through their Christmas selection boxes, and already supermarkets are gearing up for the next festive event.

Waitrose, on London Road, has a display full of Easter treats including Cadbury Creme Eggs, Cadbury Mini Eggs and Lindt chocolate bunnies.

Elsewhere in the county, this picture was captured at the ASDA On The Move at Hartlebury Service Station showing Cadbury Mini Eggs on the shelves.

Boxes of the chocolate eggs appeared in the service station before Christmas Day.

Easter Sunday 2023 will take place on April 9 with the following day, Easter Monday, being a bank holiday.

It is a week earlier than 2022 which fell on Sunday, April 17.

The date is based on the first Sunday following the Paschal full moon, the first full moon of spring.

Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.
